Weddings

Weddings have the same set-up. You know there's going to be kisses, dances, speeches, and cakes. Weddings to foreigners were permitted, but with restrictions; and the final restriction to a wedding was the ages of the couple involved, the bride had to be at least twelve, the groom, thirteen. Weddings are such a fun thing to experience in life. No matter who you are, lets face it, Weddings are fun to not just go to, but to be in!
Weddings are an important and exciting event. Weddings are considered the ?main event,? but they are not the only event surrounding a wedding. Weddings provided another important occasion for ritual dancing. Dancing with the bride was considered an act of devotion, and the officiating rabbi always complied with pleasure. Weddings of the Renaissance and Medieval period were not all that much different in content from weddings today. Many things remain the same: the bride, the groom, and their attendants wear special costumes; family and guests are invited and dress for the occasion; an official joins the couple, and there is a reception afterwards where food, drink and entertainment are provided.
Weddings are happy family occasions and should not be restrained by unwanted procedures, but having said that there are certain customs that are expected and nice to observe. Traditionally, the main purpose of the reception is to receive and welcome the guests and to afford the opportunity to introduce and meet both sides of each family.
